Next Stop: Columbia University
Lauren Percy ’16 is heading to New York City this fall to begin her studies for a Master of Arts degree in postsecondary education at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Percy is up for the challenge, however, as she is no stranger to hard work. This year alone she balanced her thesis on maritime history with being an assistant hall director and preparing for the Miss New Hampshire contest — winning the honor of first runner up.?
“My biggest piece of?advice to incoming first-year students is not to worry if you do not find your ‘people’ your first year,” she says. “Take every opportunity you can to learn about yourself and others. I promise that if you welcome and learn from?new experiences and friendships, you?will eventually find your ‘people.’”?
