Why did you choose to become a hall director?

One of the most exciting parts of the college experience is learning how to navigate adulthood. This is often the first time a young person learns how to be self-sufficient, live in a community, and discover their new identity as an independent person. As a Hall Director, I get to be an integral part of this journey for students, and provide them a safety net to try new things in a welcoming and supportive environment.?
I am passionate about taking learning from the classroom and applying that same spirit to residential spaces, so students can learn how to participate in their communities with integrity. I love hosting events and having 1-on-1 interactions with students that foster a strong sense of belonging and personal growth.?

Why did you choose to work at Res Life at UNH?

UNH felt like home the MOMENT I stepped on campus. Talking to everyone on staff was truly like reconnecting with old friends. That spirit of community and camaraderie between the housing staff, students, and core members allowed me to envision myself on this campus in a place where I would thrive. Everyone's passion for student growth, creativity, and belonging matched what I value in an office and institution. I am so excited to finally be a Wildcat, and join this incredible team.?
Additionally, I have lived in Ohio for my entire life, and could not think of a better place to spread my wings and try something new!?

What advice would you give to students?

My advice for students would be that there is a place for everyone to belong on a college campus. There is a club for every interest, and a people to match every vibe. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and challenge yourself to get involved and try new things! When we experience the "uncomfy" things in life, it is proof that we are growing. You never know...you might pick up a flyer for a club and find out that those people will become your best friends.?
Oh...and please...find time to take care of yourself! It's ok to have a little "me time" every once and a while!
