The First Step
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is required to establish eligibility for federal, state and university grants, loans and work-study jobs.
The form is used to calculate your Student Aid Index (SAI), which determines the types of aid you are eligible to receive. Most students who complete the FAFSA are eligible for student loans.
While the priority date for filing is March 1, it’s best to file as early as possible. For the 24-25 school year, the FAFSA is available now. The sooner you file, the more aid options will be available to you.

Find Scholarships
Thousands of scholarships are awarded to UNH students each year, in areas including academic achievement, academic concentration, community service, leadership, athletics and more. Additional scholarships are offered by our schools and colleges.
Your Award Letter
After receiving your FAFSA results, the Financial Aid Office will send an email letting you know your aid package is ready, and telling you how to review your aid.
The package may include a combination of loans, grants, scholarships and Federal Work Study Program opportunities.
