Just one year after graduation, Matt Drayton ’97 was already known for his commitment to others, receiving the 1998 Young Alumnus Achievement Award for his efforts in creating Parkinson’s Power Across America.
Almost 20 years later, Drayton shares his most recent honor: “I was able to perform the Easter sunrise service aboard ‘Old Ironsides’ — the USS Constitution.” Celebrating the service on the oldest commissioned warship in the U.S. was “an amazing opportunity and a career highlight,” he says.
Drayton and wife Pam Brandell Drayton ’98 previously worked at UNH and started UNH Athletes Bible Study. He went on to receive a master’s degree in divinity, was commissioned into the Navy Chaplain Corps and now serves with Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England. He writes, “We loved our UNH experience and believe it set the stages of success that we now share.”
