The Jazz Bands cover a wide spectrum of big band literature, from the classics (Ellington, Basie) up through contemporary writers (Bob Mintzer, Maria Schneider).

UNH Symphony Orchestra Concert
8 p.m.,? Johnson Theatre, Paul Creative Arts Center
The UNH String Ensemble will perform Felix Mendelssohn's youthful Sinfonia No. 10 in B minor. The full symphony will perform the film music of Serge Prokofiev in his Lieutenant Kije Suite. UNH Professor of Clarinet, Dr. Elizabeth Gunlogson, will join the symphony strings for the English composer Gerald Finzi's Five Bagatelles for Clarinet and String Orchestra. The program will conclude with the American composer, Howard Hanson's lush Symphony No. 2, subtitled "Romantic."

The opening reception for the? 2013 MFA Thesis Exhibition II showcases the works of Kathleen Hall and Elizabeth Kelley, candidates for the Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the Department of Art and Art History, UNH.

The Abortion Monologues
7 p.m., Richards Auditorium, Murkland Hall
The Abortion Monologues, a play by Jane Cawthorne, tells the stories of twenty women and their personal reasons for getting an abortion, revealing the gray areas in what many often consider a black and white issue. It exists in stark contrast to the real world in which women seldom publicly discuss this choice.

The french horn students of Kendall Betts will perform.

UNH Concert Choir
3 p.m., Johnson Theatre, Paul Creative Arts Center
The UNH Concert Choir, under the direction of David Ripley, will present The Joy of Papa Haydn. The program focuses on the choral works of the beloved master, and includes "Part I" and the finale of his revered oratorio, The Creation. Outstanding student soloists will be featured. In addition, the concert will feature the premier of Ripley’s arrangement of his own work, The Sleeping of a Child, for choir, soloists and harp, dedicated to the families of Newtown, Conn., and the national effort to lessen gun violence in American society.

This exhibition runs from April 13 – May 17, 2013, and is closed from April 29-May 3.
This annual exhibition celebrates the achievements of the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts degree candidates from the Department of Art and Art History, including: Kathleen Brewster (drawing and painting); Sarah Brewster (drawing and printmaking); Cara Copeland (painting); Mary Duke (ceramics); Addie Fisher (photography); Emily Holland (ceramics); Sophia Lupi (photography); Loren Marple (painting); Samuel Rheaume (painting); Paige Smith (painting); Sarah Archer (ceramics); and Brenna Thompson (photography).
Open: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5 p.m. Closed on Fridays and university holidays.
