Dear UNH Faculty, Staff and Students –

I am writing with additional information about the federal government’s requirement that organizations with government contracts must have their employees vaccinated for COVID-19.? We have now determined that the requirement goes beyond the Durham campus and includes?UNH?Manchester, UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law?and?UNH Extension.?If you are fully vaccinated and have already uploaded proof of vaccination you don’t need to do anything else—and thank you.?

This requirement includes?all university employees, including all student employees, regardless of mode of work (remote vs. in-person). Anyone who works on federal contracts, supports federal contracts or comes into contact with those who do are part of this requirement. We did not make this decision lightly. We have many employees—in?research administration, human resources, finance, IT, public safety and others—with cross-campus reporting structures and responsibilities and the open nature of our campuses and the desire for interconnectedness means we cannot be confident that contact between covered employees and other employees can be prevented. ?

All employees must be fully vaccinated (two weeks after the last dose) or have received a medical or religious accommodation by?December 8.

  1. Vaccination:?Visit?Vaccines.gov?to make an appointment or?get vaccinated at UNH Health & Wellness?. Please don’t wait; the timeline for each vaccination is different. Review these?FAQs?for detailed information.
  2. Already vaccinated but haven’t reported it to UNH:?Visit the?main COVID site?and look for the ‘upload proof of vaccination’ button.?If you are fully vaccinated and have already uploaded proof of vaccination you don’t need to do anything else.
  3. Request a religious or medical accommodation:?Complete the appropriate accommodation form.

Thank you in advance for your help with this new federal requirement.

With my best wishes,

James W. Dean Jr.
