Dear Members of the University Community—

We join members of our UNH community and people everywhere in mourning the victims of the recent shootings in three Atlanta-area spas.?Although the shootings remain under investigation, six of the eight victims were Asian women prompting widespread concern that this could be the latest in a disturbing nationwide rise in violence and discrimination directed against the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.

We condemn all acts of violence as well as the discrimination, harassment and stereotyping that has targeted Asian Americans. This is not just happening elsewhere. It is happening everywhere, even in our own university community.

We?all have an obligation to stand up against racism.?We must stand for and with all the groups who contribute to the diversity of our university, our country and the world.
