Dear Colleagues,
It has been quite a semester! We were able to keep our campuses open until the Thanksgiving holiday as originally planned and our robust testing program worked to quickly identify positive cases and their related close contacts. Thank you for everything you did to get us where we are; we are again asking for your assistance. As you know cases are quickly rising at UNH, in New Hampshire and across the United States. While a vaccine appears to be on the horizon we are not out of the woods yet, especially in the wake of Thanksgiving travel and gatherings as well as the upcoming holidays.
Unless you have been identified as an essential employee who?must?be on campus to do your work?please stay home and work remotely. If you are currently working from home please continue to do so. If you are unsure, ask your supervisor. This is something we can do to help reduce density on our campuses and ensure the health and safety of those employees who are essential. Earlier this month we moved from yellow (restricted) to orange (limited) operations and could move to red. Please?familiarize yourself?with these modes of operation. Additionally,?research operations?are currently in phase 5 and could move back to phase 4 or 3 depending on state and regional conditions. Please prepare to scale back to essential research operations only should the need arise.
In?travel guidance?released last week by the N.H. Department of Health and Human Services, it was noted that “staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others from getting sick.” The recommendations include travel and quarantine guidance for residents of and visitors to the Granite State. There have been updates; please?review the latest.
