Robotic Programming Explorer
Week 1: June 24-28
Week 2: July 1-5 (no camp July 4)
Campers will work on building and programming LEGO EV3 Mindstorms robots to tackle simulated real-world challenges. The activities are designed to stimulate creativity in young students, while showing them what computer science is about and how it impacts our daily life through innovations. Students will work together, make friends, and create their own robots. No prior programming experience is required. Students who enroll in both weeks?will have the opportunity to work on more?advanced topics during Week 2. Includes both indoor and outdoor activities. Lunch included.?

Physical Computing Fun
Week 1: June 24-28

Join us to learn about computing through interactive physical devices. Work together, make friends and learn the fundamentals of computer science through fun hands-on projects, for example, working with programmable electronic devices and learning the basics of electronics and sensors. Some prior programming experience (Mindstorm, code.org, Scratch, etc.) is recommended but not required. Students who enroll in both weeks?will have the opportunity to work on more?advanced topics during Week 2. Includes both indoor and outdoor activities. Lunch included.

EPIC-FLY
June 24 - August 2
Embark on a technology exploration with EPIC-FLY (Fellowship in STEM Learning for High School Youth), a high school summer research experience designed for rising 10-12 graders passionate about robotics, computing, engineering, and cyber security topics. Join small teams collaborating on a 6-week long project guided by college graduate students and faculty advisors. This hands-on experience offers insight into technology careers, fosters collaboration, and sharpens technical skills. Meeting times are to be arranged and include both in-person and virtual meetings. We encourage under-represented groups to apply. Participants will have opportunities to showcase their projects at local/regional events (e.g., UNH Summer STEM symposium). Space is limited.
EPIC-FLY requires admission, which is competitive and requires an application. Applicants are required to submit a reference letter from a teacher or educator. This letter should showcase the applicant's previous involvement with robotics and programming, evidenced through personal projects, academic coursework, or active participation in pertinent clubs or competitions. After receiving notification of admission to EPIC-FLY, the student will enroll on this page. DO NOT ENROLL unless you have received notification from the EPIC staff.
