UNH to Offer Real-Time Acceptance and Scholarships via Direct Admissions Pilot Program

A?pilot program with?Niche Direct Admissions?for the 2024-25 admissions year will allow high school seniors who meet certain criteria for admission and merit scholarships to recieve immediate acceptance to the University of New Hampshire based solely on their Niche profile.

Direct admissions programs like the partnership with Niche have expanded rapidly over the past five years as universities seek to broaden access, boost enrollment and change the narrative of higher education from one of scarcity to one of opportunity.

UNH Engineering interns Will Callery ’25 and Tatum Vansicklen ’25 gained practical experience and got an up-close look at the inner workings of the Mount Washington Cog Railway in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, the world’s first mountain climbing cog railway. They were able to work in a hands-on environment and performed a diverse variety of tasks at the site where all of the cog railway’s locomotives are designed, built and maintained, honing skills that will set them up for success as they venture out into their careers.

Ecuadorian Researchers and Students Visit UNH as Part of Ongoing Partnership

UNH Celebrates Official Opening of Hamel Honors and Scholars College

The University of New Hampshire celebrated the official opening of the Hamel Honors and Scholars College on Sept. 29 at a ribbon cutting ceremony outside of the college's new home in Huddleston Hall. The college was made possible by?a $20 million gift from longtime benefactor and UNH parent Dana Hamel. The transformative gift — announced last year — greatly expands UNH’s capacity to identify, reach and support high achieving students.??
