There’s a new bird on the Durham campus, nesting on a plot of lawn off Main Street near the Health Services building. “Cardinal,” a powder-coated steel, eight-foot-tall sculpture constructed by American artist Dale Rogers, is “meant to spark curiosity, enhance the campus grounds and remind people of the importance of the visual arts in their daily lives,” says Kristina Durocher, director of the UNH Museum of Art. Funded by private donations, the installation will remain on campus through 2017 along with another Rogers work, “Seasons,” a quartet of sculpture trees on display in the Mills Courtyard at the Paul Creative Arts Center.
