Notice of Application for federal Funds

The University of New Hampshire – Wildcat Transit is applying for $ 2.4M of USDOT (FTA) 5339 Bus & Bus Facilities Program federal funds for replacing three CNG transit buses with three new CNG buses.? This will allow Wildcat Transit to take buses out of service that have met their useful life requirements and replace them with newer, more reliable buses.? The University of New Hampshire is an FTA grantee which operates the Wildcat Transit and Campus Connector public transit systems serving seven seacoast NH communities.? Affirmative Action & Equity, Notice to Public

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) Transportation Services (UTS) hereby gives public notice of its policy to uphold and assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and all related statutes. Title VI statutes prohibit discrimination and require that no person in the United States of America shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal assistance, such as UTS. It is the policy of the University of New Hampshire to abide by all United States and New Hampshire State laws and University System of New Hampshire and University of New Hampshire policies applicable to discrimination and harassment. In accordance with those laws and policies, all members of the UNH community will be responsible for maintaining a university environment inclusive of its public services, programs and activities that is free of discrimination and harassment, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and all related statutes.

Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by a Title VI violation regarding UTS’s programs has a right to file a formal complaint with UTS, UNH’s Civil Rights & Equity Office, or the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). Any such complaint must be in writing and submitted within one hundred eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged occurrence.
