Meg?was originally?from Chicago, Illinois and?earned a MS in Environmental Science with a concentration in Sustainability?from the University of Dayton?in Ohio. She previously completed?a BS in Environmental Biology and minor in Sustainability?from UD. Meg worked part-time as a?Sustainability?Specialist for the City of Dayton, Ohio where she led the initiative to procure energy for all Dayton residents from 100% renewable resources. In addition, she was the?Co-Author of Dayton's first sustainability plan. At the start of her fellowship, she was?aiding in a community-driven project to get 13MW of solar on an EPA superfund site in Dayton. Her graduate assistantship for the?Sustainability?Institute at UD focused on conducting a city-wide resilience assessment.??

During the summer of 2021, Meg worked with the?Oyster River Cooperative School District (ORSCD)?to?develop a district-wide sustainability management plan for the next 5-10 years. After collaborating with national and local stakeholders,?she?developed a sustainability framework?with?focus areas?and?strategies to hit specific sustainability goals that were established by an internal and external stakeholder team. The?management plan?helped?blend other initiatives that are currently taking place within the district such as DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) health and wellness initiatives and integration of sustainability curriculum. She crafted the plan?to be?utilized as a learning tool by teachers and?to?help the school district lower greenhouse gas emissions, setting?a local and national?example on how to create a more sustainable district through school operations and?sustainability curriculum integration.?
