Originally from New Haven, Connecticut,?Maggie was?pursuing a?MA?Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University. She previously completed a?BA?in Environmental Policy from Williams College?in Massachusetts. While at Tufts, she worked?part-time at Kim Lundgren Associates (KLA)?—?a small sustainability consulting firm that helps municipalities achieve more sustainable futures. At KLA,?she?primarily supported?climate action planning processes for a wide range of cities and towns across the?United States.??
During the summer of 2021, Maggie worked?with the?Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission (SMPDC)?on a regional coastal resilience plan for the ten southernmost coastal towns in Maine. Her primary focus was planning and implementing innovative engagement approaches to gather feedback from stakeholders about their top priorities and concerns as they relate to coastal hazards, their work to date on building coastal resiliency, and their thoughts on how to best advance coastal resilience initiatives across the region. Specifically, this work involved summarizing results from an initial stakeholder survey; interviewing municipal staff members, emergency management officials, and representatives from conservation organizations; researching interactive web engagement platforms; and?exploring ways to pull non-traditional stakeholders into the conversation.??
