All nominees for the 2023 UNH Sustainability Awards were invited to submit a proposal for funding between $250 and $2500 to extend their sustainability work or projects. These proposals—and over 40 were submitted—ran the gamut from working toward climate-resilient food production, to sustainable printing practices, to applied waste management in our own labs, and to structural environmental racism. Thanks to our partnership with Responsible Governance and Sustainable Citizenship Project (RGSCP) in the College of Liberal Arts, a pool of $32,000 in support of these initiatives is being awarded. In different, but mutually beneficial ways, RGSCP and the Sustainability Institute seek to ensure sustainable and ethically responsible responses to the challenges we face today. ?
