The Research Communications Academy (RCA) trains faculty members, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and research-related staff to effectively communicate the power and impact of UNH scholarship with a broad audience. Launched in 2019, the RCA is hosted annually by the Research Office, NH EPSCoR and the UNH Graduate School.

2023 Research Communications Academy

UNH’s fifth annual?Research Communications Academy, scheduled to be in-person during spring semester 2023, provides intensive communications training to a select cohort of 24 UNH faculty members, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and research staff from all schools, colleges, institutes and disciplines, as well as to NH Biomade?team members. The 2023 RCA will launch with a two-day in-person workshop led by the Alda Center for Communicating Science (ACCS) on January 5 and 6, 2023 (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.). ACCS facilitators will provide a highly interactive training designed to help researchers connect and interact with an audience in meaningful ways, create memorable messages, and prioritize clarity.

Those selected for the RCA 2023 cohort will attend up to five additional meetings and trainings in January, February and March, 2023 and will be encouraged to participate in a public research communications opportunity such as UNH’s 3 Minute Thesis competition (graduate students) or Sips of Science.

In addition, the 2023 RCA will offer virtual and in-person workshops on creating better conference posters and mastering social media that will be open to the entire UNH community.
