Orientation Schedules

Below are the schedules for both?New Student and Parents & Family?Orientation. Students should expect to participate in both small and large group activities, giving them the opportunity to connect with peers from within and beyond their colleges, while Families should expect and informative day of learning about UNH and the role they can play in their students time at UNH.

Schedules are subject to minor change, with final schedules handed out to all attendees at check-in.

Parking

We ask that all students and guests park in the specified parking lots on campus. There will be staff at these lots to direct you towards check-in.

Students parking overnight should park in B-Lot. No payment or code will be needed for this lot during Orientation.

Location: McDaniel Drive, Durham, NH

*Guests who purchased overnight on-campus accommodations will be directed to an alternate lot after checking in, which is closer to their Adams Tower West Residence Hall.

We have allocated the parking lots closest to the Orientation Check-in and Welcome events. Please read the information below closely so that you go to the correct parking lot each day.

  • Guests dropping off their students and/or attending the Parent & Family Reception on Night 1 of their Orientation Session
    B-lot on McDaniel Drive
    Check-in at Quad Way and Reception in Stillings?Hall
  • ???Students and Guests coming for the 1-day Orientation
    A-lot on Gables Way
    Check-in and Welcome at Whittemore Center Arena
  • Students and Families attending Transfer Orientation
    B-lot on McDaniel Drive
    Check-in in front of Memorial Union Building

Accessible parking is available in all campus parking lots except A-lot, West Edge, and Mast Road lots. Participants with a disability placard are able to use any of these spots on campus.

Accommodations

When registering for New Student Orientation, students are prompted to indicate whether they plan to attend an Overnight or One-Day Orientation program. Those attending the overnight session are able to register for a night in an on-campus residence hall. There is no additional Orientation cost for students staying on-campus.

Students will need to bring bedding for their overnight stay.

All guests attending Parent & family Orientation are invited to spend a night in one of UNH’s Residence Halls. Guest accommodations have a fee and are separate from student accommodations which are free of charge. Parent and Family member are not permitted to spend the night in their students assigned room at Orientation.

Cost:?Single Occupancy-?guest would be the only person in the room.?
($68.50/person)

Double Occupancy-?guest will share room. If you are a party of two attending Orientation, you must register?BOTH?guests for double-occupancy as cost is per person. ($61.00/person)

Meals

All student meals that occur during Orientation are included and have no additional cost.?

  • Overnight Orientation includes 1 Dinner, 1 Breakfast, and 1 Lunch
  • One-day Orientation includes 1 Lunch

Guests attending Parent & Family Orientation are provided Lunch free of charge.

Guests hoping to attend the Parent & Family Welcome Reception?must purchase their tickets in advance, we cannot sell them at the door.

Guests looking to have Dinner or Breakfast on campus during their sessions can pre-purchase additional meal tickets or pay at the door.
