Dear Wildcats –

I hope the start of the semester is treating you well and you are enjoying this beautiful late summer weather. I have two updates I’d like to share with you all.

First, on Tuesday, September 17, at 1 PM in the Granite State Room, I’ll be hosting my first communityforum as president. I’ll share some of my early observations and plans for the coming year, but more importantly, I want to continue hearing from you. We will
stream and record the forum for those who cannot attend in person, and there will be plenty of time for comments and questions from the audience, either in the room, via the webinar Q/A function, or submitted beforehand through this form. I’m looking forward to the conversation and hope you can join us.

Second, I am happy to announce the search committee for the university’s next Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, which will be co-chaired by Dean Michele Dillon, from the College of Liberal Arts, and Professor Jeffrey M. Halpern, Chair of the Faculty Senate. As you know, this is a critical role for the university, and I am very thankful to this group for agreeing to help us recruit our next provost. We plan to begin the search process soon, starting with listening and feedback sessions over the next four weeks. Please watch for opportunities to share your thoughts and feedback with the committee.

Best regards,

Elizabeth S. Chilton
