Internship Programs

Purpose: ?Gain professional?experience related to your major or future career.?
Credit:??Several?internships are part of a formal study abroad program. A few students organize UNH independent study or practicum credit. There can be no academic credit for internships without a course?component.
Finances: ?Those that are for-credit will require program or tuition fees. In these cases, financial aid is available. Financial aid is not available for non-credit internships. While often unpaid, some?may offer other compensation (e.g. room, board, reimburse expenses). Global Education Center?scholarships?may be available for internships. Career and Professional Success?is a priority at UNH. Internships develop real world skills that prepare students for the global marketplace. Volunteer Programs

Purpose:?Provide assistance to local communities in areas such as community development, social services, child care, elder care, public health, nature conservation, sustainable development, teaching English, women's empowerment, peace building, etc.

Finances:??Usually unpaid but some may offer compensation (e.g. room & board). Scholarships may be available.

A great way to experience another culture is to immerse yourself by getting involved.? Volunteering for an organization abroad opens up opportunities to make contributions to ongoing projects and find common ground with volunteer colleagues.
