Funds serious language study and/or work overseas for a summer, one semester, or a year for undergraduates and graduate students in areas other than Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Focus on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad.

Eligibility:?U.S. citizenship; planning a study abroad experience in a country outside of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand that meets home institution standards; must also study a foreign language in the country of study.
