Student Group/ Organization Program Request Form

Bring a UNH Safe Zones program to your student organization! We offer flexible programming options on a variety of engaging LGBTQIA+and Ally topics using interactive formats, and can "tailor" programs based on the interests of students in your group.
NOTE: This form should only be filled out by a leader of a student group or organization for the purpose of scheduling a Safe Zones program. We prefer that requests are made at least 2 weeks prior to the program date requested. If we are able, we may consider requests with less advance notice.

*Please note that we do not schedule Hall Programs on Tuesdays between 7-9pm or Fridays from 5-6pm out of support and respect for affinity based space for the student organizations Alliance and Trans UNH.


Program Options for Student Groups and Organizations

Being “Out” as LGBTQIA+ & Allies: Identities & 188体育app_188体育在线-平台官网s

Timeframe: 1-1.5 hours
Format & Details: This program features a panel of UNH LGBTQIA+ students followed by an interactive Q & A discussion. LGBTQIA+ students will share how they identify within the LGBTQIA+and Ally spectrum, personal experiences with coming out and reactions from friends and family, being LGBTQIA+at UNH, personal impact of homophobic and transphobic bias incidents, tips for allies, and beyond. This is an informal opportunity for the students in your group to ask any questions and hear open and honest responses.


The Power of Words: The Power of Allies

Timeframe: 1-1.5 hours
Format & Details: This program engages students in scenarios that spark discussion about ways to be an ally. This program focuses on bias incidents that students may encounter and the intention, perception, and impact of language, comments, and behaviors. Students will have the opportunity to learn about specific scenario examples of homophobic and transphobic bias incidents and discuss bystander responsibility, including ways to respond as an ally.
NOTE: This program can be very specifically "tailored" to the scenarios that fit the demographics or focus of your student organization (i.e. sororities, fraternities, multicultural orgs, etc).


Religion & LGBTQIA+ & Ally Perspectives

Timeframe: 1-1.5 hours
Format & Details: This program features film clips that spark discussion, and focuses on a variety of religions, and highlights a variety of perspectives on homosexuality, LGBTQA people, experiences of inclusion and exclusion, what allies are doing within religious communities, and beyond.


Gender & Transgender Identities, & Transphobic Bias

Timeframe: 1-1.5 hours
Format & Details: This program engages students in interactive activities and scenarios, and may feature film clips if equipment is available. Students will have the chance to consider their own identities of sex, gender identity, gender expression, and gender socialization. Students will gain an understanding of the bias incidents that transgender and gender non-conforming students may experience, and the assumptions, perceptions, or stereotypes that people may make based on gender expression. As we consider specific scenarios of transphobic bias incidents that could and have happened at UNH, students will discuss ways to respond and be an ally.


Beyond Gay... "LGBTQIA+": what does it all mean?

Timeframe: 1-1.5 hours
Format & Details: This program engages students in interactive activities that spark discussion about the wide variety of LGBTQIA+terms, why people identify their gender identity, gender expression, and sexual identity the way they do, the fluidity and intersection of identities, why identities matter, and how having an understanding of terms and identities is an important aspect of being an ally!
