Consumer Solar Lending Professional

This course is jointly offered by UNH's Carsey School & the Inclusiv Center for Resiliency and Clean Energy. The earner of this badge has successfully completed an 8-week course for community-based lending institutions and is able to understand & apply the following topics focused on solar lending to their institution: solar photovoltaic tech, market analysis, partnering w/solar contractors/providers, loan product design, underwriting & program implementation & reaching underserved borrowers.This course is jointly offered by UNH's Carsey School & the Inclusiv Center for Resiliency and Clean Energy. Earning Criteria

  • This 8-week program requires 3.5-5.5 hrs of weekly class time and course work. Students attend a live virtual class each week which consists of teacher lecture, guest speakers and group discussions. Other coursework includes viewing pre-recorded video lectures, taking online quizzes, and completing class assignments culminating in a final project/presentation
  • A student’s final grade is pass or fail. Course completion is dependent on successful class attendance, completion of coursework, and completion of the final project and presentation
  • Students will be issued a Solar Lending Professional Certificate issued through Inclusiv upon successful course completion. The Inclusiv Center for Resiliency and Clean Energy, created in partnership with the UNH Center for Impact Finance at the Carsey School of Public Policy, is designed to build a network of credit unions committed to jointly designing and scaling solutions to climate change, with a goal of promoting affordable and sustainable energy for all people.
