The earner of the?Inclusive Leadership Microcredential?will learn to:
- Assess the characteristics of effective leaders and paradigms of leadership.
- Develop an action plan for growth based on personal leadership competencies identified in a leadership instrument.
- Examine leadership skills, styles, and traits and their influence on followers.
- Identify key theories, models, and issues of multiculturalism as found in an organizational setting.
- Explore contemporary organizational strategies for managing workplace diversity.
- Gain greater self-awareness of cultural values, biases, and behaviors and how they may influence our interpersonal behavior and organizational interactions.
- Understand and debate the ethical, legal, and business-related reasons why managers should address diversity issues.
- Develop greater competency and appropriate skills for working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and orientations.
How It Works
The Inclusive Leadership Microcredential is a short-term credit-bearing program offered by the?UNH?College of Professional Studies.?To receive this Microcredential, learners must successfully complete the two required courses?within a period of 2 years or less.
Upon completion of the required coursework, learners will receive the Microcredential?issued by Credly that is shareable via social media, digital resumes, online portfolios, and email signatures.
What To Expect
LD 820: Cultivating Your Leadership Capabilities and LD 832: Building Diverse & Multicultural Organizations?are online graduate-level courses at the University of New Hampshire's College of Professional Studies (CPS). Both courses are offered online in an 8-week format. Check?UNH's Course Search?for when these courses will be offered as they are offered on a rotating basis.
Learners in the courses will be a mix of matriculated UNH degree students and nonmatriculated continuing education students.? All learners are expected to participate and engage as defined by the expectations of the individual course instructor, syllabus, and curriculum to successfully complete each individual course.
How to Enroll
There is no formal application process to pursue a UNH Microcredential, learners simply enroll directly in the required courses?during the set enrollment windows. (View the?UNH Course Registration Calendar.)
Current matriculated UNH degree students must enroll through their standard registration procedure with the consultation of their academic advisor through?Webcat?and the?Office of the Registrar.
Nonmatriculated, nondegree, visiting, and continuing education learners can enroll for courses online through UNH's?Nondegree Enrollment Hub?or by contacting the UNH Registrar's Office at?registrars.office@unh.edu.

Once you earn your Inclusive Leadership Microcredential, you can apply all credits earned towards the?Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership?and/or the?Master of Science in Leadership?program if you decide to continue your education in this area.?
